Connecting Platforms
Overview
MigrateData uses OAuth 2.0 to securely connect to your platforms. Each connection requires admin-level consent to access user data for migration.
Google Workspace
Required role: Super Admin
- Go to Settings → Connections → Add Connection
- Select Google Workspace
- Sign in with your Super Admin account
- Grant the requested API scopes (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Admin SDK, etc.)
- The connection will show as "Connected" with a green indicator
Scopes requested: Gmail (read/write), Calendar, Drive, Contacts, Admin SDK (user management), Groups, Chat
Microsoft 365
Required role: Global Administrator
- Select Microsoft 365 from the Add Connection dialog
- Sign in with your Global Admin account
- Grant admin consent for the organization
- Approve the requested Microsoft Graph permissions
Permissions: Mail.ReadWrite, Calendars.ReadWrite, Contacts.ReadWrite, Files.ReadWrite.All, User.Read.All, Group.ReadWrite.All, Chat.ReadWrite.All
Box, Dropbox
Each cloud storage platform uses standard OAuth:
- Select the platform
- Sign in with an admin account
- Grant the requested permissions
- Connection is established
ShareFile
ShareFile requires customer-owned OAuth credentials registered in the ShareFile API Portal.
- Setup: Configure your ShareFile OAuth app under Settings → Custom OAuth Apps before connecting
- Connect: Enter your account subdomain and authorize with an admin account
Managing Connections
- View all connections in Settings → Connections
- Connections show status (Connected, Expired, Error)
- Token refresh is automatic — MigrateData refreshes OAuth tokens before they expire
- You can disconnect and reconnect at any time
Custom OAuth Apps (Enterprise)
Enterprise customers can use their own OAuth credentials instead of MigrateData's shared app registration. This provides higher API rate limits, your app name in consent prompts, and full control over OAuth scopes. See Settings → Custom OAuth Apps to configure.
